Mental Health and Wellness

Mental Health in Agriculture

Farmers face severely high stress levels compared with the general population. According to recent national studies, just over 75% of Canadian farmers report experiencing daily anxiety symptoms, and 35% meet criteria for clinical depression.

Even during the best of times, the pressures that farmers face are demanding and involve high stakes. Many hesitate to seek help due to stigma and limited rural resources, but can still recognize that prioritizing their mental health is essential for a stronger, more resilient farming community.

professionals trained in the Canadian Agricultural Literacy Program (CALP).
